PO-03-193 SINGLE CENTER EXPERIENCE OF TRANSITIONING FROM TRANSESOPHAGEAL TO INTRACARDIAC ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY FOR LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE CLOSURE
نویسندگان
چکیده
Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) is typically performed under peri-procedural transesophageal (TEE) guidance with general anesthesia. LAA guided by intracardiac echo (ICE) imaging in the LA emerging, can provide excellent and allows implant to be done moderate sedation/monitored anesthesia, but requires a learning curve. To compare outcomes of LAAC TEE only vs transition phase using both ICE only. Consecutive patients undergoing Watchman FLXTM implantation from August 2020 November 2022 were included study. The patient population was divided three groups based on utilization (group 1), + 2) (Group 3). Group 2 represent transitioning where institution adapted as standard care while used for confirmation curve operator. Outcomes success, procedural times, adverse events, discontinuation OAC at 45 days assessed. Mean age cohort 74 +/- 8 54 % males. Average CHA2DS2VASc score 4.02 1.2. (TEE+ICE) 90 days. A total 155 underwent FLX [group 1=62, group 2=15 3= 78]. Procedural success achieved 93.5%, 94.7% 97.2% 1, 3 respectively. Procedure times comparable group. There no differences average devices per implant. No major events noted. At there difference incidence PDL. [Table] offers without requiring

Left Atrial Appendage Closure Under Intracardiac Echocardiographic Guidance: Feasibility and Comparison With Transesophageal Echocardiography
BACKGROUND Transcatheter left atrial appendage closure is an alternative therapy for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation patients. These procedures are currently guided with transesophageal echocardiography and fluoroscopy in most centers. As intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) is commonly used in other catheter-based procedures, we sought to determine the safety and effectiveness of intra...
متن کاملSuccess of surgical left atrial appendage closure: assessment by transesophageal echocardiography.
OBJECTIVES We sought to determine which surgical technique of left atrial appendage (LAA) closure is most successful by assessing them with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). BACKGROUND Atrial fibrillation is a risk factor for stroke, with 90% of clots occurring in the LAA. Several surgical techniques of LAA closure are used to theoretically reduce the stroke risk, with varying success r...
متن کاملComparison of intracardiac echocardiography versus transesophageal echocardiography guidance for percutaneous transcatheter closure of atrial septal defect.
Transcatheter closure of interatrial septal defects is guided by transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), which requires general anesthesia in most cases. Using a new intracardiac echocardiographic (ICE) catheter may avoid endotracheal and esophageal intubation while using only local anesthesia. Forty-two patients underwent transcatheter interatrial septal defect closure; half of them underwent ...

Stroke prevention is the primary goal in atrial fibrillation (AF) given its clinical and socioeconomic impact. With AF, the prevalence of thromboembolic stroke continues to rise and there is an urgent need to develop better strategies of stroke prevention. Warfarin, although effective when used appropriately, is burdened by underutilization, narrow therapeutic windows, and life-threatening blee...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Left Atrial Appendage with Real-Time Three-Dimensional Transesophageal Echocardiography: Implications For Catheter-Based Left Atrial Appendage Closure Nucifora et al: RT3DTEE Imaging of LAA
Background Precise knowledge of left atrial appendage (LAA) orifice size is crucial for correct sizing of LAA closure devices. Aim of the present study was to determine the performance of real-time three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (RT3DTEE) for LAA orifice size assessment, compared to twodimensional transesophageal echocardiography (2DTEE), and to investigate the impact of atr...
